GrandCanyonFunTrips.com is operated by Las Vegas locals. We often joke with each other about the amount of friends and family that spring out of the wood-work when they hear "so and so moved to Vegas". Nothing like being "Voluntold" to manage entertainment and activities for every group of friends that swings through town to make you an expert. It also gives one a keen eye for spotting great deals through the typical Vegas "smoke & mirrors". Our blog chronicles our adventures, misadventures, and generally serves to lift the veil on Las Vegas! Interested yet, then [Keep Reading] !!

Hoover Dam Tour from Las Vegas

Sightseers pass through the picturesque town of Boulder City, the community built by the federal government to house approximately 5,000 Hoover Dam workers and their families. Before arriving at the first stop on the Arizona side of Hoover Dam, passengers will have an excellent vantage point of Lake Mead. At the Dam, there will be time to explore the structure, the Depression Era engineering feat whose completion in 1935 helped launch Las Vegas. At the top of the West Rim, passengers will board a helicopter for the exclusive 4,000-foot descent into the inner reaches of the Gorge to land on the banks of the Colorado River. There, tour takers transfer to pontoon boats for a River float trip and close-up views of the Canyon and its abundant wildlife, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After returning to the top of the Canyon, a lunch break gives visitors time to enjoy the scenic wonders of Eagle and Guano points and browse the Indian Village. Activities include shopping, entertainment, and Skywalk, a transparent bridge jutting 4,000 feet over the Grand Canyon.
